Rani Mahal: As the name suggests, this place was home to Jhansi’s brave queen Rani Lakshmibai and the place presents vivid imagery of the life of the royals that once inhabited it. It is also remembered as the very place where the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857 started. Jhansi Fort: Perched on top of the Bagira hill, this fort offers breathtaking views of the city of Jhansi below. This 17th-century structure was the focal point of the princely state of Jhansi and played a very important role in India’s battle against the British. Although some parts of the fort were destroyed during the first war of Independence, the remnants are definitely worth a visit. 

Cenotaph of Raja Gangadhar Rao: Built by Rani Lakshmibai in loving memory of her late husband, this cenotaph is an architectural marvel. Adding to the grandeur of the place is the lush greenery, well-manicured gardens and the pond.  People love to visit this place not only to marvel at its grandeur but also to cherish the fond memories of India’s bravest daughters. 

Barua SagarTal: Situated in the historical town of Barua Sagar, this 260-year-old lake has great historical significance. Tourists coming here can also enjoy beautiful views of the town from atop the embankment of the lake.
